Write your own creation myth. (Post #3)

In the beginning of time, there once was a goat that lived in a forest. The goat had all that it needed to survive and lived a comfortable life. In the forest, there was a lake for the goat to drink water, a house for the goat to rest in and plenty of hay for the goat to eat. The goat was pleased that he had all that he needed to live a comfortable life. However, somehow he still was not completely satisfied.

The goat often felt sadness in the forest because he had no friends. He lived in the forest all by himself and while the frequent silence was relaxing, it was also lonely. To relieve his sadness, the goat often took walks throughout the forest. In the forest, fruit trees with the sweetest fruit of the land were plentiful. The goat had long, sharp horns that could cut wood off the trees, easily shake the fruit off the trees and cut the trees’ fruits open. However, the goat had no way to grasp the fruits once they felt onto the ground because he had hooves. Therefore, the goat was never able to eat the sweet fruit he tried so hard to get down from the trees.

After a walk one day, the goat reflected and came up with a solution for his loneliness and to get the sweet fruit. He would create another living creature from the trees’ wood, and then call this creature a “human”! Excitedly, the goat leaped from his resting spot and walked back to the fruit trees.

Day after day, week after week, and month after month, the goat rammed his horns into the trees to cut down pieces of wood. Then, he carved out a body for the new creature using his horns once more. To put the pieces together, he poked a hole with the tip of his horns through the fruits that fell on the ground and used the fruits’ juices as glue. Eventually, the goat finished creating the human. With a loud “baaaaa!” to Mother Nature, the goat brought the human to life.

The human immediately went up to the goat and hugged him. The human said, “Hello my new friend! Would you like to share some sweet fruit with me?” The goat gave a big nod to the human, and cried tears of joy. The goat was so happy that with his horns, he could create from just wood a live friend and fruit-grasper.

The human remained the goat’s best friend for many years. Everyday, the human and the goat would take walks together. Then, they would go to the sweet fruit trees, the goat would ram its horns into the trees, fruit would fall, the human would grasp the fruit from the ground with his hands and the goat would cut the fruit open for them both to split.

The goat, in the end, was so happy. The human brought him great joy. The goat spent the rest of his life dedicated to creating humans from the tree wood and fruits. This way, there would be continuous life after the death of each human, and  other goats and humans one day would be able to have great companions like he did.
